Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
What Can be done ?
My younger brother age 51 yrs is living with my parrents age 78 yrs,
My brother is on disability , and has a history of past drug abuse.
My mother agreed to be the one controling his money, to help him not over spend.
He stealing and coursing them out of there property.
My mother is not clear what to do.

1. Report the thefts to police.
2. Report the abuse and thefts to the Department of Human Services' ADULT Protection Services division. They have a Children's Protection Services (CPS) unit, and one for the elderly (Adult) that focuses on things like this.
3. Consider filing a petition in Probate Court to become or have someone appointed as conservator for your parents' finances (so you control the money and restrict your brother's access), or become a guardian for your parents (where you could make decisions about where they live and who they live with). But consult with an attorney in provate proactice about whether these options will work.
