Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Michigan
my daughter went to a house party last night. there was about 25 people there , which 20 was under 21 years old, now she knows, against better judgement she drank one mikes hard lemonade. it was 2 am in the morning, and the police arrived at the door, they only checked three out of the 20 for blow tests, my daughter had a .03 on her test, she was crying because she was so affraid. they let all the rest go and leave. she has to go to court on april 12th 2010. she has never ever been in trouble, she has always been top honors on school, she works full time and goes to college full time, she is going to be a teacher, will this hinder her chance for a teacher job? will it stay on her record forever? How can she get it off her record. I have talked to her all day today, she knows she made a bad choice, i am not excusing her for her decission. but I worry about this effecting her future. she has always had a great level head and never made rational moves on any thing, I just think she was with a large group and they all felt grown up I guess, I know that is not the answer but what will happen now? We live in the state of michigan. My other question is, out of the 25 there approx 20 was under 21 years old, and only three was issued a mip ticket, isn't this discrimination?

Don't worry about what happens to other people. Your daughter broke the law and must face the consequences. Of course, with a lawyer, she should avoid the most dire results of this case. Hire one immediately and they will advise you what will likely happen. www.kliszlaw.com Tim Klisz
