Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Michigan

Hola, I work at a financial investment firm. I have been speaking with an accent around November of last year. Now I am being told that my job is in jeopardy due to the accent. Little background on me is that I pick up accents like people drink water. I am not harming anyone and I happen to be very happy with my accent. In the beginning I wad informed that the company cannot have someone on the phones with an inconsistent accent. I believe since they cannot find fault with my job performance this is what they choose to complain about. Do I have a legal case of discrimination or is this something they can get away with? There is much more to the story than that. Please help.

Your phony accent is not protected and using it in a customer's financial transaction could get your employer in trouble with the law. Stop it if you want to keep your job.
