Legal Question in DUI Law in Michigan

Driver's License Clearance Letter

My husband is trying to get his drver's license here in Texas. He was told he needs to get a clearance letter from Michigan where he previously had a license. He lost his license due to DUIs. This was approx. 15 years ago. He did everything he was supposed to do(conseling, AA's, alcohol testing, probation, etc.) Now they are saying he needs to complete all these things and go to a hearing in Michigan. He has not lived in Michigan in years and lives and works here in Texas. What should he do? Does he need an attorney here in Texas or in Michigan or what? He has quit drinking completely-about 4 yrs. now. We are really frustrated. He needs to get his license as soon as possible.

Re: Driver's License Clearance Letter

If he wants to try to completely resolve his license problem, he needs a Michigan lawyer. A limited solution might be possible through a Texas lawyer, with an occupational license.
