Legal Question in DUI Law in Michigan

driving a lawn tractor on michigan roadways

Last year after consulting the state police and the chief of police of my village I purchased a lawn tractor to be used for mowing my small lawn and mowing a few friends lawns and use on my small farm 12 miles from my home and used it for these purposes until recently when a couple officers who dont like me told me it was illegal and they would ticket me if they saw me on the road again. All of the officers involved have known all along that I havent had a drivers liscense for 16 years. I have studied the laws concerning special mobile equipment and implements of husbandry and I beleive it is legal for me to operate my lawn tractor on the road. Should I hire an attorney

No, you shouldn't hire an attorney. You'll be disappointed, since that's not the kind of help you need.

If a driver rams your well researched lawn tractor while its traveling 12 miles to your farm on a Michigan highway, the legality of your actions will be moot. You could be dead right, but you're more likely to be just plain dead.

Why do all the officers know you don't have a driver's license? Would it have anything to do with alcohol?

Get with the program.
