Legal Question in DUI Law in Michigan

Two DUI's in six years

I got a DUI in Indiana just about six years ago. I got another one in Michigan last week. What are the chances of keeping @ least a restricted license, and not getting jail time?

Our office has been very successful in fighting drunk driving charges. Although it is not possible for any attorney to properly evaluate you case without MUCH more information, I suggest that you set a time to meet with Attorney John English as quickly as possible. He does a terrific job at fighting these cases and can be reached at

licensing will be your biggest problem. Assuming the Indiana conviction appears on your record, this will be a second offense. If the case is in the metro detroit area, contact me at www.kliszlaw.com to discuss your matter. Tim Klisz

Re: Two DUI's in six years

You are facing a hard suspension of your license for a year if the state is aware of your prior conviction. Because of the severe penalties you face this is probably a good time to hire an attorney who can lessen the impact. If the attorney can reduce your fines and penalties, it may save you a lot of money in the long run. While its hard to predict what exaxtly will happen, I recently had success getting the charges dropped for a client who was facing his second OWI in 3 years. If you need help, contact my office.
