Fines or costs for crime, jail time
Stopped for busted tailight. arrested for oui limit .127.
This is my first offense. I also have a case pending for domestic violence at the same time as this. The judge said to contact a lawyer. I am afraid that the fines and costs may be to high for me to afford. I am hoping that pherhaps some of the charges may be dropped or lowered. I am also concered about jail time. The judge told me that i should have an attorney present with me, but i can not afford one. The court said they would appoint one, but how? The domestic violence case was started by my boy friend, but he never filed charges. the state automatically did. Is there a way to drop the charges? I think that my boyfriend should also be there at court. what should i do?

You can ask the court to appoint an attorney if you can't afford one. However, I would strongly suggest hiring an attorney. Many attorneys, such as myself, take credit cards and/or will work out a payment plan. As for fines and costs, most courts allow payment during your probationary period.
