Are there Loopholes to the Michigan expungement statute that makes you wait 5 years after the conviction. Especially if it is a barrier to employment. I just graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice and got accepted to the Austin Police Academy....But a stipulation is that I need to get my DUI from just over a year ago expunged.

Even if you wait 5 years, you cannot get a drunk driving conviction expunged - ever. It is a traffic matter not subject to expungement under the statute..
