Legal Question in DUI Law in Michigan

Michigan DUI reciprocity

Are there any states that a Michigan 2nd dui will not show up and a drivers license can be obtained.

I have heard Colorado, tennessee, florida and Wisconsin as possibilities.

Re: Michigan DUI reciprocity

You might want to think this through. Let's say you get an out of state license (after establishing residence in that state) after your Michigan license is revoked.

Then, the next time you get pulled over in Michigan, the officer asks you where you live (after noticing your Michigan plates). You lie and tell him you live in another state. He goes to his in-car computer, discovers the lie, and arrests you for DWLS and resisting and obstructing (i.e. lying to) a police officer.

It's a good bet that you already have a prior DWLS, and, even if you haven't, you're looking at 1 year in jail since you've also violated your probation for OWI II which also states you can't even leave the state without permission from your P.O. Or....

You can stop drinking for a year, get sober with proof of attendance from AA or rehab, and apply for your license to the Michigan DLAD.

Your choice.
