Minor in Possession
In January of this year my son received a ticket for minor in possession in East Lansing, Michigan. He paid a fine and was not placed on probation. 2 weeks ago he received another one in Troy, Michigan. He will have an arraignment hearing tomorrow. What should he do at the hearing?

Re: Minor in Possession
In Troy, he's facing a $200 fine; about $450 costs; a 90 day hard suspension of his driver's license plus up to 2 years probation; participation in substance abuse prevention services or substance abuse treatment and rehabilitation services; community service (at least 30 days), and substance abuse screening and assessment.
He is well advised to plead not guilty at his arraignment. His chances at the subsequent pretrial will improve if he has an attorney.
