Legal Question in DUI Law in Michigan

Mip

The judge told my son to plead not guilty. He said to seek out the prosecuting attorney at the next court date. What exactly does he mean? Do we still need an attorney?

Most bright attorneys don't try to represent themselves in court. Most doctors don't treat their family members. Why in the world would you think to have you or your son try to practice law. Of course you ought to have a lawyer.

Re: Mip

The judge is probably thinking you should try to work out a better deal with the prosecutor. However, the prosecuting attorney is not your attorney and will not necessarily be looking out for your best interests or give you as good a deal as he would if you had your own attorney. I advise you to get your own attorney.
