This usually means that you were arrested for your 3d (or more) offense or that the officer did not personally witness your driving.
In either case the officer has to present the case to a magistrate for a warrant to issue.
If so, you'll be notified by mail provided that your current address is known to the officer or is the same as the address on your operator's license.
If you receive nothing after a few weeks, call the court in the district of your arrest, give the clerk your name and ask if a warrant has been issued.
If you miss the written notice or do not respond to it, your next appearance in court will be very unpleasant.
