333.7411 is the michigan law you are referring to. It only applies to possession of controlled substances offenses.
If the judge grants this status it means that if you successfully complete a term of probation without violating, the case will be dismissed at the end and it will become a non-public record.
The courts and police will still know of it's existence, but you can officially deny that you were ever charged/convicted of that offense.

Hopefully your lawyer is competent enough to explain that "the 74-11" does not apply to drunk driving cases.
