Legal Question in DUI Law in Michigan

Possession of Illegal Substance

A cop found a pipe and less then a

gram of marijuana in my car. He

asked where I got it, and is real

interested in me cooperating. All I

received after they searched the

car and confiscated my pipe and

weed bag was a paper with a

number on it. No citation was

issued to me or my friend. The

officers just told us we had until

Monday to call the number. Can

they still charge me with the pipe

and weed?

Yes. And be very careful. Police officers will often say whatever they can to make other cases. And their promises are meaningless, and unenforceable.
