Check with your university to see what the residency requirements are to qualify for the lower "residents" tuition rate. It can be considerably less than for out-of-state students. In some states, merely moving to a state in order to attend school does not demonstrate sufficient intent to qualify as a resident. Often other indicia of residency are needed, e.g., working in the state, getting a driver's license, etc. Good luck.
