Dad stealing from Grandma
My grandfather was extremley sick and added my dad to all of his financial accounts because he was worried my grandmother would not be able to do it. He has since passed away and all assets were willed to my grandmother. My dad has continued to do the banking, but has been taking money for himself as well. How can I stop this?

Re: Dad stealing from Grandma
If your Dad and your Grandpa were the only ones on the accounts, then most likely your Dad has inherited the accounts, not your Grandma. If your Grandma was also on the accounts, then she still has an interest in the accounts. Joint financial accounts do not pass through probate; i.e. it makes no difference if your grandfather willed them or not, they pass to the beneficiaries. How you "stop" the withdrawls depends on the facts. If your Dad is sole beneficiary, you can't. If Dad and Grandma are joint, it depends on the nature of the account and if she can remove him.
