guardianship in michigan
Hello. My father just passed away and my mother has alzheimers. I am trying to protect her money she has and not completely sure where it is all at. I don't trust my siblings with the money. My sister is obtain guardianship, can this be contested. What can I do to protect my mom and her money. Thank you

Assuming that your mother needs nursing home care, you will only be able to preserve about half of the estate. It will be tough if no estate planning has been done, because you will have to get court authority to gift assets--and not many attorneys know how to convince a judge to allow that. You may be able to be appointed co-conservator with your sister.
