Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan
I have a 19 mo old son. I have raised him for most of his life. His mother is unemployed with no means of supporting herself, her unborn child or my son. She has no stable home or permanent address. She bounces around from place to place with my son. She is not capable of providing anything for the baby. I have and still do pay for everything my son needs, even though she has received assistance form the state off and on. She recently asked me to keep the baby until she finds somewhere to go. I had my son in my care for 3 weeks until she became angry at me for not answering my phone fast enough. She tried to take my son from my home without a carseat. When I made her leave to get a seat she became very irate. When she came back with the carseat she was violently angry and claimed I would never see my son again. I am very concerned about my son's life, wellbeing and future. I want to file for full custody of my son. I need to know what my rights and options are as a single father.
