Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan
My 6 week old son's father refused to sign the birth certificate and doesn't pay child support. I was letting him see our son but seeing as though when my son visit's he just leaves him with his mother who says I'm neglecting him I refuse to let him go over there any more. I told his father he could visit him at my home or I would meet him somewhere but he refuses. Now he's trying to bring up the fact that I work and go to school to guilt me in to letting the baby sleep over again when I'm only back at work because he's unemployed. Am I wrong for trying to go through the courts to set up visitation?

Going through the courts is the proper thing to do. That way, he'll have to take a DNA test and own up to the paternity and pay support.
You should meet with an experienced family law attorney as soon as possible. The courts can order him to do a DNA test and if he's the father, he'll be ordered to pay child support. Setting up a visitation schedule isn't your problem. Let the father deal with doing that.
