Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

abandonment

I recently left my husband after 20 years of marriage. He attempted suicide in 2004 and again in Semptember of 2007. He told me that he spoke with an attorney and because I am a RN that I could lose my nursing license because I abandoned him and he is mentally ill. When I left in December I was headed for a nervous breakdown and went into self-preservation mode so I could care for myself and my 17 year old son. When I left he had already gone through inpatient treatment, 2 weeks of outpatient treatment, was seeing a counselor 2 times a month because the counselor felt that was all he neede. He was on antidepressants and was seeing a pshychiatrist monthly. He was also working part time for a delivery company. We attempted reconciliation but it didnt turn out well. I am just curious in the validity or truth in what he told me about abandonment. Thank-you for any feedback.
