Adoption

I have a child by a previous relationship, and I am planning on getting married next month. The man whom Iam marrying want's to adopt my child. The biological father has not seen his child in 4 years. Is it possible for my fiance' to adopt my child without the fathers say in the matter. I don't recieve any kind of support from him at all. My child also has my last name as well, so would there be a problem getting her last name changed over to my fiance's. Thank you for your time. Rosa

i believe the biological father must be notified of the adoption and has the ability to intervene. William S. Stern
