Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Adoptions

My husband has a son who was given up for adoption in 1999 against his will. He fought for custody and lost simply because he has a felony on his record from 1990 and 1991. We are not wanting to fight for custody but just so that he can maybe visit and get to know his son. Is that possible? Or if that is not possible what would be the process for getting custody?

Thank you

Re: Adoptions

When you say the child was given up for adoption against his will, are you saying that Children Services filed for permanent custody? If the answer is yes, then all of your husband's parental rights were terminated. There is no process for him to get his parental rights back now.
