Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan
Alimony
I've been married for 20 yrs and my marriage is falling apart, im not sure if i need a legal separation or divorce..i have been unemployeed thru out the marriage, my husband works for General Motors and we have 4 kids 2 are under the age of 18 and the reason for our marriage failing is over moneys coming into the home, he refuses to give me cash i always have to beg him for it, he also had direct deposit going into our joint account and has halted that and opened another account which i have no access to and i have asked him to at least give me $150 a week so that incase my kids needed somthing i would be able to get it for them, he puts up an arguement everytime and im tired of having to beg for money, is there anything i can do???

You need to learn how to stick up for yourself. you can get a lawyer and hope the lawyer takes it on a basis that he gets a fee from your husband. However, after 20 years of marriage, are you telling me that you don't have the ability to write yourself a check? That is wild. If you have access to the checking account, go write a check and get the lawyer of your choice. William S. Stern
