Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

So I was alleged to be the father of the child of an ex-girlfriend in the state of Michigan. I live in the state of Missouri, where I have lived for a long time. Never did any allegations or anything come officially or even from a court, yet Saturday a latter came in the mail saying I failed to appear in court a week ago, and the court has decided that I am the father because i did not appear, and has ordered child support among other non sense.

How is this legal?? They obviously have my address, it is right on the paperwork! So they can manage to mail me this, but not a notice of hearing or anything else? How can a court just decide I am the father?? I was not around when the child was born, or even when she was pregnant. I signed nothing, never said i was the father, It's not like it's an old thing, the kid is a year old. NOTHING.

This is insane....

Insane or not, get a lawyer. Otherwise, the Michigan judgment will be taken to your state, entered and you will have 18 years of support to pay plus, potentially, medical bills and the hospital deliver charge. A lawyer will move to set aside the judgment. Then, you can get a DNA test and see what happens.
