Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Biological parent death

My daughter's biological father just passed away and was left with over 3K in child support arrearages. I had originally been planning to have him sign off and have my husband adopt her before this happened, although we never started the process. My question is, will I ever see any of the back child support, and if my husband adopts my daughter now, will she still be entitled to recieve the death benefit from her biological father?

Biological parent death

You might be able to recover the $3,000 arrearage if the father had assets. With regard to the Social Security death benefit, you should phone the Social Security Administration to get that answer.
