Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

My ex boyfriend thinks if he signs sole legal and physical custody to me he'll have to pay more in child support. We live in Michigan. Is this true?

What counts is the number of overnights that the child spends with the other party. Generally, the more overnights with the other party, the lower that party's support will be.
