Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Name Changed

My children have for years been enrolled in school under my ex-wife's new married. She did not have their names changed legally but they are recognized in the school system (all correspondence shows new last name) under the new last name. Does this preclude me from having to pay child support if this was done without my approval? Can my ex-wife or the school system do that legally?

Re: Name Changed

Greetings; No, this will not affect child support. If you want to force her to change the names back, you should file a motion with the court. Thanks, Atty. Trichler; www.trichler.com
