Changing Childs name, Child abandonment?

I would like to change my son's name to my maiden name?

My Ex-husband has not called, nor seen our son in over 6 months. Is it possible to change his name?

Also, I would like to know could I ask for his visitation to be removed due to his lack of contact. I just learned from his first ex-wife that he has moved again, so I have no idea where he is living. I just know that he is still in the city that we were living in at the time of the divorce.

It is doubtful that a name change would be allowed. You can motion to limit visitation. This may be granted. However, the fact that your ex has not kept the Friend of the Court apprised as to his address does not look good for him. Bill Stern 248-353-9400
