Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Want to see my child

This is a cry for help for my dear friend he has been put through the last three years without being able to see his daughter. The mother has told the child that she can't see her daddy because daddy isn't paying child support. The thing is that he is as much as possible, but they have tooken his license, so he is unable to get a job . Even with this big hurdle he has he did get a job and is putting all of the money towards helping him see his daughter. The mother told him that he had no right to go to a public football gave where his child would be, but he didn't even try to fight to stay, so he waved goodbye to his daughter and the mother said we don't talk to a man like that. On many occasions his daughter was told that dad didn't love her by he mother. he even had to stand in the doorway at christmas time, two months after, and watch his child open gifts in that manner. I don't know if you can help him but he needs hope. Countless times he has call and called with no response. He is a good father and wants to be the best father. Please give some advice to how this year he might not have to stand in the doorway to have Christmas but can get a hug for any gift he can give them. Thank you for this little hope.

Re: Want to see my child

You left out lots of stuff, such as why your friend has no license.

I have seen it where mothers poison their kids minds but the support issue is totally independent of visitation. There is no reason why the visitation is not taking place outside of the presence of the mother, unless I am not getting the full story. Now, remember, what you are basically and impliedly asking a lawyer to do, is to devote substantial resources to helping your friend and you are painting a picture of a guy who had nothing to do with his rotten situation. I have never found this to be true. If you are in the Wayne, Oakland or Macomb county areas and your friend is willing to be straight about how he got into this mess, feel free to give me a call. If you find some bleeding heart lawyer willing to help your friend without some scepticism, then I would seriously question the competency of that lawyer. William S. Stern
