Re: Child Custody
This is a complicated question. The burden of changing custody is very high. There must be a change of circumstances. A family law attorney can help answer your questions.
Re: Child Custody
Really, it has nothing to do with the time that you have been divorced. The longer the child or children are in an established custodial environment, the harder it will be to change custody. You have the burden of proof and it is a very high burden. You have to basically show that the present environment is bad and that you could provide a solution. You must prove this by clear and convincing evidence, which is a much higher burden of proof than in most civil cases. The best interest of the children is still the standard. William S. Stern

Your question is very similar to calling your doctor and asking about your chances of getting better when you're not feeling well. Get an experienced family law attorney to represent and advise you.
