What are a Dad's chances of getting full custody after being divorced for 6 years?

Really, it has nothing to do with the time that you have been divorced. The longer the child or children are in an established custodial environment, the harder it will be to change custody. You have the burden of proof and it is a very high burden. You have to basically show that the present environment is bad and that you could provide a solution. You must prove this by clear and convincing evidence, which is a much higher burden of proof than in most civil cases. The best interest of the children is still the standard. William S. Stern
