Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

child custody

recently divorced with 7 month old child. I have physical custody with joint legal. My ex is unpredictable and could go after custody or joint custody of our child anytime just to make my life miserable. How likely is it that a judge will change custody orders based on ''just because'' and not for any valid/logistic reason???

Re: child custody

If your ex actually uses "just because" as a reason, the chances of custody being changed is nonexistent. But if he were to pursue custody, he'd likely allege a reason other than just because, which changes the chances of a change, but unless you are an unfit parent, the chances of custody of a 7 month old being changed is pretty low. If he tries to change custody, it is a good idea to get an attorney to help you fight the attempt.
