Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Child Custody between States

Good evening, my son will be 15 at the end of the month. He currently lives with his father, who has custody of him. It is in the best interest of the child to come live with me in Chicago. My first question is if he came to see me for the weekend and stayed here, could I get in trouble for kidnapping? And my second question is how would I go abouts changing the custody? His father would not willingly let him come to live with me. The divorce was in the state of Michigan as is the custody.

Thank you for your time.

see my other answer. to change custody, you'd have to go through the michigan courts, which have jurisdiction over this matter, the previous divorce, and your child, since his residence is in michigan.
