Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Child support

My ex-wife and i got a divorce, but before we were married (in Virginia) she was already pregnant with someoneelse's child. When he was born (in North Carolina) i put my name as the father on the birth cirtificate. after the divorce i have proved that i am not the father in the state of michigan (where i live) and my name has been removed from the birth cirtificate, but Virginia (where my ex-wife lives) says that i still may have to pay child support for a child that i have proven is not mine. My social worker said that in the state of Va. that if a child is born into a marraige that the husband is named the father no matter what, but the child was not born in Virginia he was born in North Carolina. N.C. agrees with the state of M.I. in that i am not the fater and that i should not have to pay the support. What should i do?

Re: Child support

Where was the divorce granted? Where is the child residing? More information is needed. Have you been served with papers from Virginia or is the information coming from your ex?
