Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Child Support

My ex husband and I are in the process of a divorce. The drafted judgment states re: child support that it become effective July 20, 2008 and/or when divorce is final. My ex husb is set against paying me a penny other than what he has to by law, (child supp). My question is since we cant agree on this, will the judge determine when he pays? Are my chances good that he will have to pay from when our child was born which was 2/13/08?? I thought this was automatic. Is it??? What about retroactive support, would this apply in my situation? He wanted dna which was done 5 wks after child was born and he is the father. Help Please. Thank you kindly!!!!

Re: Child Support

Your attorney can demand that child support becomes effective when the two of you stopped living together.
