Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Child support ?? help needed. asap.

Is it possible for the friend of the court office to base my new support order on a previous wage from previous employment?? I've taken a new job that currently pays 4 dollars on hour less but gives me flexibilty with my weekends to be able to spend more quality time with my daughter and be able to drive her to see her mother on the weekends.

Huge factor considering I went to court to take my daughter out of state for the previous job but soon found out that the district manager pulled a fast one on me and made promises the corporation wouldn't keep. I also only worked at the other job for 4 1/2 months.

Also, my daughters mother voluntarily QUIT her last job and has been unemployed for over a year now.. The gentleman for FOC that I spoke to on the phone today said that doesn't matter . I'm blown away by all this.. I feel like the whole system is against ME. I have my daughter for 2/3 of the year including school and I get ZERO help or advice from FOC here in escanaba..

Sincerely,

A father under fire..

Re: Child support ?? help needed. asap.

The Friend of the Court may impute your income based on your previous job; however, you could ask the court for a reduction of child support because your voluntary reduction in income was not done in bad faith or a willful disregard for the interest of your child.
