Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

child support problem

We just found out that my step daughter has left her mothers house in Michigan and is living with her uncle in Kansas. We were not informed of this move and we are still paying child support to her mother. Do we have a right to argue this or should we just leave things as they are? There is no reason that she could not have moved in with us, she did live with us for 5 months in 2006.

You can surely make an arguement to the court. Your lawyer should immediately take action and take it in front of your judge.

Re: child support problem

Make a Motion, generally a custodial parent cannot move a child out of state, and certainly the mother should not be receiving support if the children do not live in her household.
