Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan
Child Support
I recently received a request to raise my child support in Michigan. For the past two years I have had to work out of state just to make ends meat. Last years wages I had alot of over time but this year my income is down, I am still out of the state working but with barely no overtime. Can the state of Michigan base child support on overtime pay when it is not always there to work?

Re: Child Support
Child support is not an exact calculation. It is true there is a formula but based upon the numbers fit into the formula, the result can change. Ultimately it is something that either you have to agree to or a Judge set.
Re: Child Support
The Michigan Child Support Formula sets forth the way that your situation should be dealt with. Be sure to review that with your attorney before agreeing to anything.
