Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan
Child Support on Reserve?
We are transferring custody and it was put in the papers ''That the issue of Child support is in reserve due to the fact that both parties are adequately supporting the minor child''. What is ''in reserve'' or what is that basically saying?

Re: Child Support on Reserve?
It means either party can return tot he court and request support. If you are in Michigan, the support order probably cannot be made retroactive past the date that the motion to increase the support is filed. However, an argument could be made that the requestcould be retroactive from the date that the modified order was entered. If neither party wants support, why not just say it? Bill Stern 248-353-9400
