child support stopping
boyfriend got coustdy of 14 yr old son in Jan. Child support finally stopped comming out of pay last week. We found out there is 1,500.00 setting in his account. His ex is waiting for that check to come to her so she can put a down payment on a house. Will they return that money to boy friend or will they sent it to the ex? Should we call foc to ask about that money setting there. Thank you

It sounds like the money may be an overpayment by the father if he got custody in January, but child support was withheld from his pay until recently. Unless there was an arrearage, he will most likely get that money back. A call to the Friend of the Court would be a good idea.

Of course nobody can predict what the Friend of the Court will do with that $1,500. However you should quickly call them and if necessary have your attorney obtain a court order to return that money.
