Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Court Appointed Attorney

Is there a form or application to apply for a court appointed attorney when making an appeal in a custody case?

If so, what is the form called or numbered?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Court Appointed Attorney

There are no court appointed attorneys in custody cases, unless the judge appoints one specifically to represent only the interests of the children. The parents are on their own. Court appointed attorneys generally are only for criminal cases. In something as important as child custody, if I were you. I would definitely "hit up" relatives and friends to obtain the best attorney you can get. William S. Stern
