Re: Court Officer
Many times divorce documents are served either by the court officer or the county sheriff, civil division. William S. Stern
Re: Court Officer
yes, that could be the reason. it is likely a Complaint, as those have to be personally served, and cannot be served by the person suing you. if you are in Oakland or Macomb county, you can check the court's website for free to see if there are any lawsuits pending against you. wayne county does not have that access.
if you need a divorce attorney, please feel free to contact me - and do so BEFORE the time runs for you to answer the complaint (you will have 21 days from the date you are personally served); and 28 days to answer if you are served via certified mail/restricted delivery.
thanks.
