Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

CPS came to my home today looking for my children's father which he hasn't been in my home in over 7 months . they told me that he isn't allowed to be around the kids until the end of the investigation then had me sign a agreement. she left and came back and stated that my boyfriend who lives with me needed to leave the home and my kids could have no male contact, and she added him to the agreement that I had signed previously. is this illegal ? she wouldn't even tell me the reason behind any of this. what should I do.
