Credit Card Use

My husband and I are still living in the same house. I said I wanted a divorce because of his increasing violent/aggressive behavior. My husband has been very threatening ever since I said I wanted the divorce. He says he can have me thrown in jail for credit card fraud because he gave me his credit card to use once when I could not find mine. I was not real comfortable with the idea, but he convinced me that it was alright because it was a joint account and we were both accountable for the debt. I used his card a few times until I located mine.

Now he says unless I call off the divorce,he will contact the authorities and have me arrested. Because of his increased violence and aggression, I have been forced to call the police on him. He has been telling our 14-year-old son that he will be going to an orphanage or a foster home if I don't give in.

I'd like to be able to put my son's mind at ease, but now that he's made these threats, I don't really know if he can have me prosecuted or not.

Please help.

You will not be charged and you will not go to prison for using his charge card. Your son will NOT be going to an orphanage. He is subjecting you to physical and emotional abuse.
