Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

custody

My daughter was arrested on felony charges. She and her boyfriend were recently investigated by Child protective services. I need to know how I can get temporary custody of my one year old granddaugter. I do not want her to end up in foster care and know that the boyfriend has a mental history and so does his mother.

First, consult a local family law attorney. You should be able to get custody provided you can prove there is a reason the boyfriend (assuming he is the father) should not have custody. But absent a reason why the father shouldn't have custody, he'd be the first to get custody. If he isn't likely to agree to it, it can be an uphill battle and you'll want an attorney for that.
