Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan
custody heard somewhere else
my divorce was in wexford co mi. i no longer live there, x wife and child will be moving out of mi. also. in the past i have tried to have motions HEARD there but have been denied because i cannot BE there physically for the hearing. I asked if i can have a phone in hearing or video conference and still the answer is no. (apparently, the information superhighway does not run through wexford co. mi. ) this situation doesnt allow me to represent my daughters best interest and keeps the x wifes absurd conditions the rule (thank you friend of the court). I have a letter from the court saying that i cannot have an attorney there in my absense. Is there something i can do to have my motion/case heard somewhere that has technology from the 80's ?
Do i really have to be seen in wexford county to be heard or is that justice being blind ''thing'' have wexford county michigan excluded....

Almost all courts require your physical presence, it really has nothing to do with technology, it is simply a requirement that you be present for legality purposes.
What exactly are you trying to accomplish and/or have heard before the Court? Depending on what it is, an experienced family law attorney may be able to handle the matters without you being present - do not rely on advice from the courts. You can contact the State Bar of Michigan's attorney referral hotline if you do not have a michigan lawyer. 800.968.0738.

The divorce court in Wexford has jurisdiction, that's where you have to go. No use complaining about it.
