Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan
custody
i have sole custody of my 9 yr' old child. I let her come to MI. to visit her father whom she's only met once and he's had nothing at all to do with her until last month. she was supposed to be back in Florida on June 12th but he lied and didn't send her. He's not on her birth cert. and has never raised her, not even a card on her b-day or x-mas. however, he is now keeping her and he doesn't even have visitation and she wants to come home and get ready for school. he won't even let her call me at home. he took the cell I bought her to call with and told her she wasn't allowed to use it because he couldn't record her conversations on it. I don't feel it's fair that he can just keep a child that he's had nothing to do with and I've raised her whole life. Shes a straight A student in school and loves living in Florida with me. I'm all she knows. please help me and tell me what I can do. I just want my child back.

Re: custody
Your attorney can probably obtain a court order to have your daughter picked up and returned to you by law enforcement. If your custody order is from Florida, begin with a call to your Florida lawyer. If you've got a Michigan order, call an attorney in Michigan.
