Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan
custody
Last year my daughter was removed from my home because I found out my husband raped her. CPS removed her from my home and placed her with her bio-dad. I did everything I was suppose to and had him put in jail. They let him out once and I had him put back in. I should have just shot him.
CPS finally said that she could come home with her 2 brothers and myself but her Dad decided to file for custody. I was never found neglectful or Unfit. The judge gave him temp. cusd. and 90 days to file. How can they do this? I had sole physical and legal cusd. he never hardly took her. When it did finally go to court they scheduled a cusd. hearing for 1 hour and had to reschedule to finish. The next court date is almost 2 months away. My daughter is almost 12 and wants to come home. I can't afford a lawyer to know my rights but I do know his lawyer made several mistakes, like when he said a 16 yr old boy that I am getting guardianship of is a suspected perp. (my paster from church heard this too and was not happy) He doesn't even know anything about this boy. He also tried to pick a fight with my 17 yr old in the hallway after court and yelled in his face to shutup and get out of the court house. This is all so ridiculas to me. What can I do?

Re: custody
You should find a way to afford an experienced and aggressive custody attorney. There's no way for you to be able to practice law effectively. This is complex stuff.
You wouldn't try to do surgery on yourself and you shouldn't try to practice law yourself. Get some help. Hire a family law lawyer.
