Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Dating female 16 male 20
I received a answer regarding if there is any law that states in Michigan can a 16 year old date legally a 20 year old male. The response was in Michigan, a 16 year old can and legally do this with out any legal problems. My question again, once the male turns 21 and she is still 16 1/2 can the male in any way have any type of penalty for dating the female. Clearly this was answered but the males parents are continually saying to the male he can get in trouble. They are respectful have a great relationship- no sexual contact and approved by the females parents. If as stated before no problem, wouldn't his parents be just trying to persue a break up of this relationship because they are not educated on the laws in Michigan?

You can refer the 21 year old's parents to the MI Legislature's website. Go to the Chapter Index and look up the following:

750.13 Enticing away female under sixteen; felony, penalty.

750.520a-e Criminal Sexual Conduct

16 is the age of consent in MI. You can get married if you want (not that I advise that).

Just don't drink at the wedding reception--legal age for that is still 21.
