my daughter moved to michigan with her boyfriend and 3 month old son about 2 months ago. things arnt working out and she wants to move back to california. he says he will press kidnapping charges against her if she leaves with the baby. there is no custody orders in effect. should she worry?

Your daughter will NOT be charged with kidnapping in Michigan if she leaves and tells the father where she is taking the child to. She cannot hide the baby. When she returns home, she should immediately meet with an experienced family law attorney to begin a custody and child support case. (She also has the option to work with a Michigan attorney to deal with custody and child support before she leaves Michigan.)
