With a legal separation, you are still legally married. However, you have your rights and obligations spelled out with regard to child support and perhaps a potential property settlement in the event that you get divorced. If you have any further questions, call me at 248-353-9400.

Greetings; Michigan does NOT have 'legal separation'. So, it is not possible to answer your question. Michigan does have a separate maintenance statute, but it is different than a legal separation. Thanks, atty. Trichler; www.trichler.com.
